Here is the cycle of life as I see it:
A prolonged era of prosperity produces weak leadership.
Weak leadership produces a prolonged era of poor economic performance, standard of living and no prosperity.
A prolonged era of poor economic performance, standard of living and poor prosperity produces strong leadership.
Strong leadership produces a prolonged era of prosperity.
and then…………ta da!
A prolonged era of prosperity produces weak leadership.
And on and on she goes…
That is my take.
So, where do you think we are at the present time? Huh?
Lighthouse was a great Canadian band of the late 60s and early 70s. This song was a favorite of mine. It came out when I was living on a sailboat at the Ala Moana marina, Waikiki Hawaii in 1973. Sadly the singer of this song Bob McBride had a drug riddled life and died relatively young. Interestingly, this song, Pretty Lady, was on the Hawaiian charts at #1 for 6 weeks, right around the time that I lived there. For more about that period in Waikiki, read my latest book: Red Jewel, out on Amazon. Click on the link at the top of the page.
