Cohors is a beautiful Medieval city. Today it is about 50,000 people. I spent a day here to help Paul and to get a new phone plan. Took a boat tour and a mini train tour of the city. It is like living in a history book. Roman times with its spring waters. 100 years war and Henry the fourth. Pope John the 22nd, old town and the picturesque Lot River
The town is situated in a bowl surrounded by lush green hills and ardent valleys. I know tomorrow I will have to climb out of the valley of Cohor to the plateau above. But that is tomorrow, not today. Today I enjoy my rest.
I am so happy.
That yearte is where I stay tonight.
Enjoy the silence.

Up at 630. Of course there is a large tour group staying at the same place. Of course there is Johnnie. Got on my way and crossed the old bridge that was built in the 1300s. Legend has it that the builder had a hard time finishing the bridge so he made a deal with the devil to help him finish the job, which he did.
The builder, fearing the deal asked the devil to help him fill his pot with water. The devil complied but the bowl was a sieve and when the devil realized his mistake cursed the builder and today, on the central tower you can see a small devil taking away the last stone so that the bridge is never finished.
Hit the plateau after a short but very steep ascent. The next 20 kilometers were boring with very short scrub brush. But for once the conditions were perfect for walking. Overcast, low humidity no hot sun and no rain. First day in 16 days that was perfect, except for Ted of course. He would find something negative about this perfect day. Made it to Lascabanes by 1330. Having a beer or two with my new found friends. I think I am now up to date.
Read ya tomorrow.
So glad you have a respite from your troubles, enjoy your trip and think of us in Saskatchewan lol
Luv ya
Yes but my phone plan does not work outside of wifi. Pisses me off cause I paid for the plan. 16 euros for a month.
