Man oh Man, Boy oh Boy

BC Budget Day….we’re screwed!

And it looks as if Premier Horgan and his Finance Minister couldn’t agree more. Just look at that smirk on their faces. Yeah, we’re going to stick it to the rich and give more money to teachers so that they can stick it to our kids. Remember this:

The 3,700-year-old Babylonian tablet Plimpton 322 at the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Columbia University in New York.BC Teachers are all in a tizzy about the new math discovery as in

1 + 1 = 3

Yup, we’re screwed.!

Where do the Leafs finish in a wide open league?

Well, dead last…of course!

They say that having a beer or two will get the creative juices going…er flowing. Perhaps. It looks and reads great to me….hic-up. Just don’t show your work to anyone who is sober…hic-up.

Our totally empathetic, fair and inclusive, free speech proponent Pope Francis says people who question or deny climate change are stupid, especially in the wake of hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Please, your holiness, stick to saving souls and not the planet. He then goes on to quote scripture, a phrase from the Old Testament comes to mind: ‘man is stupid, a stubborn, blind man’,” he added. Yes, and I can relate one as well in that………………………. “Beware of false prophets.”. And this from an organization that excommunicated anyone who dared to say that the earth was round and orbited around the sun!

Now calling hurricane Irma, which weakened to a Cat 2 Hurricane, a “Nuclear Hurricane” just another example of the Press’ agenda to continue to scare the bejesus out of everyone. No, L.A. Times, this is nuclear:

Hungary refused to abide by the EU’s rule that countries have to take in more refugees. Merkel was heard to say to Hungary’s Viktor Orban: “Vee have vays of making you do as vee say Viktor.” Mr Orban then told Mutti “Hold Mah Beer, I’m going for a piss.” Let’s discuss this at next month’s high level talks in Munich:

Canada just passed Bill C 16 – Transgendered rights. This for a portion of our population less than .002 %. How’s that for identity politics.

“Man oh man”…oops can’t say that anymore. It’s now considered hate. Okay. What then? Perhaps, “Boy oh boy”…nope, can’t say that either. It’s hateful to the Trans community. Oh, I know: “Ze, hohlay, hey ze, ve zirts, okay?” Wats dat ye ze? Never mind. I had a hard time learning Pig Latin and now this! Ikes-yay.

NYT states that being hard on North Korea (NK) is a failed policy for Trump. Yup, the UN is a huge success. Let them stick it to NK. North Korea’s response on hearing about the watered down sanctions from the UN:

We’re screwed. What is next? Don’t know about you but this next generation is really going to screw our country. Time to get off the planet, me thinks.

SJ……over and out-ze

Been Great

Today is the one year anniversary of starting this blog. It has been very therapeutic for me. I try to see the humour in our day to day headlines. Better to have a chuckle than to blow a blood pressure gasket – which occurs most times when I watched the nightly news or read the local papers.

I am away tomorrow seeing a friend in Washington State. I cannot get a relevant post out so I thought I would repost my very first post on this blog:

“Intro”

This is my personal blog. While I have had this site up in my mind and “to do list” for over 12 months now, this is day one. But hey, I live for procrastination – and sailing!

Image may contain: ocean, sky, outdoor, water and nature

That’s me boat #511. Juan de Fuca Strait, heading to Pedder Bay during a winter’s Sunday Race. Mountains in the background are the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. Beautiful!

I live in British Columbia. That’s Super Natural BC. Hippie-dom’s last vestige in Canada and probably on earth. Canada’s Greenie Province of protestors and environ-mentals – the wet coast and the left coast of Canada combined – Birkenstock paradise – land of fleece vests, Tilley hats, granola crunchers, tree huggers, cappuccino suckers, and…Salt Spring Islanders. Long skirts and gum boots. Hoelay Cliche! And, I am also a poor speller!!

The site’s header reflects one of the island’s a great views – looking east – across the beautiful Saanich Inlet, and the rest of Canada. But don’t eat the shell fish here. It will kill you. And you can’t swim in the water. It will freeze your bollicks, and other things, off.

From this viewpoint you can see the Saanich Peninsula in the distance: Cole Bay, Pat Bay Airport, Brentwood Bay and the famous Butchart Gardens (infamous if you suffer from environmental allergies) down the way south a bit. US Gulf Islands in the near distance, beyond the peninsula, with majestic snow capped Mount Baker on the far horizon towering majestically and menacingly over us all. Just hope the big one never comes. We will be screwed. But then again winds are westerly here. Ha, whew! Vancouver and points east??…you’re screwed. Perhaps the environ-mentals can clap their hands and change the plate tectonics, tsunami dynamics and vulcanology …er.. volcanology of the area, just as they arrogantly claim that they can control the weather and climate. If only they could just increase taxes, destroy the economy and donate everything to Gaia. If only they could just…be happy.

I am a retired Naval Officer. Just about 37 years of dedicated, loyal, unadulterated, blemish free service to her Majesty, the Queen. Yes, her Majesty the Queen, I am proud that I served my Queen and my Country – Canada. By the very essence of the military’s left, right; left, right; left, right cadence I am non partisan but I am very relieved that Harper signed my retirement scroll. I retired as a Lieutenant Commander, or a Two-and-a-Half in the vernacular lexicon of naval life.

Writing this blog is somewhat therapeutic. Hope you enjoy it. Please contribute.

SJ………..ShakeyJay

That’s it. I’ll be back with regular posts on Wednesday…God willing.

Peace!

Lest we forget! That religion of peace!

Slide 1 of 24:
It's been 16 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001. But for millions of Americans, haunting memories of that day are still fresh, and many lives were changed forever.

On 9/11, terrorists hijacked four planes and were able to crash two of them into the World Trade Center's twin towers in New York and one into the Pentagon.

The remaining jet crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers overpowered the hijackers.

A day that started out with clear blue skies ended with a mass of twisted, smoldering metal where the Twin Towers once stood, leaving 2,977 people dead in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, along with the 19 hijackers.

September 11 happened almost two decades ago. One-quarter of Americans are too young to remember it. I have three kids who have no memory of it at all - they weren't born yet.

But we certainly don't want to forget, even as we get on with our lives and confront new challenges. So in memory of that day, here are 23 images that capture what no American should forget. And as someone living in New York City at the time, I can tell you what it was like to witness the tragedy as it unfolded.

Brittany Fowler contributed to a previous version of this story.
What really irks me is Prime Minister Chretien’s response when hearing that 24 Canadians died that day. When trying to establish some sort of memorial to recognize these Canadians who died during 9/11 his government’s response was that “Well, we cannot have a memorial for everybody you know.” or words to that effect. If they had been Quebecers there would have been a national day of mourning set up immediately. My government’s response made me sad and ashamed of being a Canadian. I mean if we can recognize Simon Bolivar as a hero with a statue in his name and likeness near the Byword Market in Ottawa than surely these brave Canadians deserve some recognition.

From the Fake News file comes this: fake sharks, fake alligators, fake looters: fakery abounded in Harvey’s wake. Lets see how Irma shakes out.

Fake maps of course. This one is not fake but sure looks a lot like that AGW hockey stick to me. Right-handed or could it be a left-handed stick. “Alt check into that and get back to you.” one meteorologist was heard to comment.

Dishwashers cannot protect valuables when Irma strikes. Say what? No, dishwashers are not waterproof say the experts. This coming from the same guy who brought us the story about displaced sharks caught up in the hurricane. PETA is hard at work to promote this story.

Bill Nye says powerful hurricanes caused by Climate Change. See? The word powerful. Irma was a Cat 2 when it hit Florida. No matter: powerful, deadly, catastrophic, scary, apocalyptic, “the end of the world is nye” – all adjectives or expressions describing Bill Nye’s thought process.

“Climate Deniers are literally killing us” one newspaper was wont to write. No. “YOU ARE KILLING US WITH YOUR FAKERY.” Its called hurricane season – August to end November, every year, since the last ice age.

This just in from another one of Holly Woody’s in the Morning brain trust and some well known spokesperson actress: “It’s disgusting. I mean, like, all of these disasters can be linked, like, to one man and to, like, one event. Like Trump and his election as POTUS. Like y’know, I mean, like, God is, like punishing us, the nation, like, because like you know, like we voted for this guy and like, God is punishing us, like, you know. Like it or not that is our, like, new reality. She also has a new movie coming out: “The Likeness of Being”……………an idiot.

“An article titled “Category 6? If Hurricane Irma Becomes the Strongest Hurricane in History, It Could Wipe Entire Cities off the Map,” (how about “Holly’s Woody in the Morning” for starters) published last week on the blog The Economic Collapse, was shared more than 2 million times on blogs and Facebook pages such as Sons of Liberty Media and Freedom Outpost, the BBC reports.” My response? Who or what is a Sons of Liberty Media and Freedom Outpost? What is a BBC? Cat 6?

And they wonder why today’s journalists are not taken seriously. It’s all agenda driven and that is why I do not watch broadcast news anymore nor subscribe to newspapers. Everything I need for a good laugh I can find on the net.

Canada’s new tax laws: “Work hard, study hard and we’ll screw you. New Tax laws? After all it’s only fair that if I get screwed then so should you., says Justinian as he whisks away for another Caribbean holiday on his private jet!

Oh, the Gov’t is going to fix and solve the housing crisis, just like they do with everything else. The MBA solution to all of this: “No housing, no problem! Let the market take care of this.”

From the “Who gives a flying F%$K file.” Apparently Toronto is all in a tiff as Rachel McAdams caught sleep walking in the lobby of a popular hotel. “Her PJs” are stunning, a well known fashion designed was heard to say.

Slide 7 of 18:
in a seafoam green column gown with ruffled trim and a tiered lace skirt at the Disobedience premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto.

I have come out. Finally I can say that I am a “abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxy and zee”……………………You know, Alphabet Lives Matter. They really do.

And with that have a great Monday.

SJ…………………………….out…………of it!

Carbon Anyone?

According to the Liberals their proposed Carbon Tax is now a pollution tax. Pollution is bad so we have to get rid of Carbon – tout suite. Okay, given that carbon comprises 18% of human body mass I say go for it, get rid of it and let’s start by eradicating the PM and his entire cabinet. Surely McKenna, Canada’s Climate Barbie would be all for this.

Carbon…….bad………but necessary for the human body;

Carbon Monoxide………..bad………….it will kill you. And this from one of Holly’s Woody in the morning’s elite, Arnie:

“Speaking of greenhouse gas deniers: “Strap some conservative-thinking people to a tailpipe for an hour and then they will agree it’s a pollutant!”

Yeah, Arnold, Carbon Monoxide is deadly. It will kill you but it is not a greenhouse gas. Carbon Dioxide is. But Carbon Dioxide is essential for all life on earth, including yours. So take that and strap it to your tail pipe!

Carbon Dioxide…………….Great!

Have you ever heard of the “Eco Sexual Warriors!” These people take tree hugging to a whole new level.

Trudeau caucus meeting in Alberta: “Well we have reached the half way point of our mandate. You should all be proud of our accomplishments to date. We have done so much. Just look at what we have done.”……….there was dead silence in the room.

Antidepressants found in Great Lakes Fish. I didn’t know they were depressed to begin with!

California Moonbats congratulate North Korea for their “hydrogen bomb.” “Way to go Kimberly” they were wont to say. “Its about time.” A major San Andrea’s fault event can’t come soon enough, I would say to that.

“Irma” worst eva. Of course it is. And last week it was “Harvey.” And next week it will be something else. “Arnold” perhaps. Check this site out:

Hurricane Irma Is NOT the Most Powerful Atlantic Hurricane Ever Recorded… Part Deux

How about the Galveston Hurricane of 1900.

Library of Congress image of Galveston hurricane damageA few facts that the greenies fail to mention: “On September 8, 1900, a horrific hurricane slammed into the city. Wind speeds surpassed 135 miles per hour, making it a category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Storm surges rose 15 feet and, within hours, estimates of 6,000 to 12,000 unwary people were killed and over 3,600 buildings were destroyed. The Galveston Hurricane remains the deadliest natural disaster in United States history.” ref: NOAA.

BTW Houston – we had a major flood problem back in 1935.

Canada’s David Suzuki lectures Canadians that the latest hurricanes, wild fires, droughts around the world is further proof of a wake up call to take action now on climate change. He says this from one of his five houses in the Province. No David, it is just the “Nature of Things.” Unfortunately for us here in Canada this guy will never fade away. Like a bad cough or incessant indigestion he is going to be around to spread his fake environmental news on the rest of us for a very long time to come.

Please Lord, we’ll give you Justin Trudeau, or maybe Suzuki, if you could only give us back Pearson. How can you take this guy seriously.

Oh, in case you didn’t know, Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, is the guy in the middle.

Have a great weekend. Good luck to all Floridians.

SJ…………..out.
