Burgos

Arrived in Burgos. Home of Charleton Heston erm I mean El Cid. It is also the capital of this part of Spain. You just cannot believe how clean this place is, as was Pamplona. It puts our cities to shame. They clean the streets here every night. The architecture is brilliant. They have real city planners. Burgos has a population of about 180,000 and is the capital of the province of Burgos, which is part of the province of Castile Leon.l

Burgos cathedral at sunset.

What should I have?

  • Same place we ate at Gerry. On the square. Only takes cash.

Recognize the Albergue?

Wow!

churros.

Tympanum of the Burgos cathedral. Wow.

Me and Charleton Heston, I mean, El Cid.

View over Burgos from the castle. The Tapas and beer here are great.

Wow

Pamplona

Pamplona is a ferry tale city. The old city centre is full of history and culture, narrow cobblestone streets and the running of the bulls. It is also a primary stop on the Camino Santiago.

Portal Frances

St Cecilia’s fountain.

Hemingway’s bar.

on her way to the bullfight.

Ready for any bullshyte!

I could be the bull’s eye.

Watch them horns dottie. Lol.

Help

I want my mommie.

Pamplona. Beautiful city.

Tomorrow?

Burgos. Home of El Cid. Where is Charlton Heston when you need him?

Barcelona

14 hour train trip from Paris to Barcelona via Lyon  Part Dieu. Beautiful country landscape especially when we crossed into Spain with the Pyrenees on one side of us and the Med Sea on the other. Barcelona is a beautiful clean and vibrant city.

Segrada Familia

Rumour has it that the architect of this religious architectural masterpiece spent his last days in an insane asylum.

Even I am impressed!

Good ole Chris. Spain, unlike Canada, us proud of its heritage, good or bad.

Beer and olives

A Spanish treat.

America Cup is  being held here this year.

Busy place. Protests going on here telling tourists to go home.

Beautiful beaches.

Paris

Iconic landmark

On the Tower

Notre Dame. Still under repair from 2019 fire. It is closed to visitors.

2.5 hour lineup to get into the Eiffel Tower.

With 10,000 other people. No wonder she is smirking.

Rain all day today. No pics but went to the Arc de Triomph and Mont Martre. Funny that the arc only shows Napoleons victories. Waterloo is definitely not inscribed here.

On to Barcelona tomorrow.
