This post is for all those Canadians who hate America and loathe Americans.

This is very emotional for me.

For all those hateful Canadians who were hoping for an American football defeat. They are our co-hosts of FIFA don’t ya know.

This is emotional too.

My wife and I travel to the USA often. Unlike the Canadian TDS crowd, we don’t cut off our noses to spite our faces. Trump is not my Prime Minister. What he does is not my business. Canadians are obsessed with US politics and in that vein perhaps we are the 51st state in all but name only.

The American people are great. They’re generous, friendly, ambitious, helpful, sympathetic, compassionate, loyal and patriotic. Values that we used to have here in Canada but have lost somewhere along the way. I love my country. I have travelled across it many times by car, train and plane. I have visited every Province and Provincial capital city. It is a great country. But the pettiness of the so called “elbows up” crowd of eastern Canadians, and the spiteful hatred many Canadians have demonstrated to our brothers to the south sometimes makes me embarrassed to call myself a Canadian.

Remember this:

Probably not as Canadian multi-culturalism has and is destroying our wonderful Canadian heritage; our history; our institutions, as well as our (once) international reputation for spirit, resilience and courage. We could be counted on to do the right thing. Our schools no longer teach these values to our youth. Our leaders ignore them as outdated and our culture denies that this ever happened.

Fook the media and Canadians, especially those back east – as I am from Vancouver Island’s Mill Bay, as the name of this blog suggests – who hate all things American. They suffer acutely from Trump Derangement Syndrome.  But it doesn’t have to be Trump. Any US Republican is hateful fair game for our inferiority laced Canadian liberal mindset. They hated Bush. They hated Reagan, and oh how they hated Nixon. But they loved the Democratic President who had oral sex in the oval office, as the name of that office suggests. Probably a democratic moniker.  Or the brain dead, cognitively challenged, say it ain’t so Joe Biden. Or that expert of the word salad himself: Barack Obama.

Democrats and Canadian Liberals love to raise their moral bar and standards so to speak. “We’re better than anyone else, especially those dastardly Americans don’t ya know,” is a typical progressive Canadian chant.  Well, having travelled and visited many parts of the world, I do know. I hate to blow the illusion but no Canadians from Ontario, Quebec the Maritimes and British Columbia’s lower mainland – you’re not!

Did ya know that it was the democrats who upheld slavery. All of the states that separated causing the US Civil War were democratic states. Did ya know that the democrats were for the Jim Crow laws, segregation and a host of other racial epithets of the 1930s and 60s. They were also against the civil rights movement.

On another note:

I spent my entire career in the Royal Canadian Navy. As a Navy we knew and understood the dynamic military leadership of the free world. And that leadership dynamic for us Naval types is the United States Navy. That was and still is the military reality. Did ya know that the US financial contribution to NATO is almost double that of all the other NATO members combined? Without the US, NATO would not exist. Yet the US is always downplayed and criticized for its military largesse. And when push comes to shove the NATO membership, excluding the US, is nowhere to be found. And they won’t be in the future with their handwringing, rationalization rhetoric of staying out of harm’s way. Only the US steps up to the plate. You can count on the US to do the right thing. God bless America. You are great again.

It’s fine for Mark Carney to spout off with his two face word salads and slam American greatness for the timidity of the European Union, but we in the Navy know all too well that successful Naval operations equates to military interoperability with the United States Navy. Not Europe, not NATO, but the US.

But our Prime Minister Carney could care less. He is an Irish and European citizen as he so rightly reminds us. A proud Canadian? You be the judge.

So why buy the best technology (US) when you can buy Swedish, or German (how ironic) / Norwegian etc. Have ya seen that Saab air surveillance kit that Canada has agreed to buy from the Swedes? No? Well here it is:

It is “cigar” based technology and electronics. It also reminds me of the British Nimrod acquisition disaster of the late 1980s.

Like two tits on a bull. When the Brits and the Canadian airfarce could have had this:

AWACs or the E2 Hawkeye

Proven US surveillance electronics package on a proven Boeing Airframe.

Too bad for us. But our purchase and the Brit’s Nimrod decision was purely political. And why? They’re not American that’s why. Interoperabuility with the US be damned. Canada, under the Carney Liberals, will lean toward the inept military geniuses (sic 0s) of the European Union. – at the integral expense of the Royal Canadian Airforce and the Royal Canadian Navy. Remember the Canadian Victoria Class submarines? Our version of the Yellow Submarine? Canada never seems to learn its lessons because of Liberal ineptitude and hatred for all things American.

Too bad for Canada. Too bad for Joe Canuck.

That is my rant. The lemonade video above inspired me to write this.

I am 75 today. I cannot believe that I have been on God’s wonderful earth for 3/4s of a century. I can’t believe that my wives – first one died after 40 years together. My second wife saved my life –  put up with me for so long.
